Music fuels my mood. Music fills my soul. Since I have had Liv I have fallen a little behind on my master playlists. Most of my friends and family know me as always having the new tracks… And now I have my 24-year-old brother tell me it’s time for a new playlist because my music is 8 months behind.

Now I get why some of my friends would be talking about a new John Mayer song they loved that literally dropped 1 1/2 years prior (E.L.A). I spend most of my time watching Sesame Street and trying to stay current with my 100s of e-mails. I don’t have time to create playlists… I know, #firstworldproblems.
What I have learned and accepted over the last few years, is that music fuels my daily productivity regardless how current my streaming. If I am getting ready for a night out, a little Kendrick is necessary. If I need to cruise through e-mails for a few hours, a Renegades Station on Pandora is required. Perfecting that station over the last 6 months is an understatement, it’s seriously gold (at least in my eyes).
When I need Liv to relax our Nursery Time playlist including “Claire De Lune” and “Any Other Name” is quickly turned on. Texas Country is blasted through the house when Andrew and I are preparing to have our squad over for drinks.
I could go all day about what we listen to for each occasion. It’s no surprise my daughter LOVES music. She loves Daniel Tiger’s intro but still gets a good head bob when Drake comes on. OHHH, judge me. We don’t play this music on a daily basis but when Andrew comes in from the gym it might be playing…
MUSIC FILLS MY SOUL
For whatever reason music can be a make or break on my productivity for the day. It’s just something that is apart of who I am. Currently: I am jamming to “Hymn for the Weekend (Seeb Remix).” Download it and tell me you don’t want to float! Part of all of this could be because the Coldplay Concert we attended a month ago was literally the 3rd best day of my life.
1 || Marrying my incredible husband (we celebrated our 6 year Anniversary yesterday!)
2 || Giving birth to the coolest little girl in the world.
3 || COLDPLAY.
No joke people. This concert was a game changer for me. It brought an energy that I have never felt. I get slightly depressed when I think about never getting to experience that again. Music can give that much-needed boost and make the daily mundane tasks more lively. The first thing I do when I sit down at my desk is turn on a playlist or Pandora station.
It brings a flow and creativity. The distraction music gives can be a good or bad. Nonetheless, it can distract from our current situation. Sometimes it transports me out of my home office in rural Texas to a hustling big city. Music gives you emotion to bring on a good cry. Girls, you know what I am talking about. Sometimes you just need to get it all out!
What does music give you? Mix that playlist up or create a new Pandora station. You never know what that favorite new song may bring!!
