You know those people, when you need some social time, they are the last to call. Yeah, you know who I’m talking about. It’s because they take themselves too seriously and we are in desperate need of some light-hearted fun. Are you that person that takes yourself too seriously?
GUILTY…I can totally be that person. It’s difficult to let things role off your shoulders when you have certain personality traits. My husband and my dad have taught me how to “LET IT GO”. My dad has been saying that for years (I think Disney owes him millions), and it’s so true. There are times when things need to be addressed in a civil manner, but once you step back and look at the bigger picture, it almost always doesn’t matter. What matters is life, love and loved ones.
Since I have had Liv I have found more understanding and patience. I have a long ways to go but feel like I don’t take myself too seriously like I used to.
Don’t take yourself too seriously
When Chriselda and I shot these photos I was in a funk… well, actually that funk might have been a two day hangover (Friendsgiving 2016 got me). But regardless, I was in a rut. We found this location and I was at a loss of what to do. Chriselda started showing me different poses… nope, wasn’t feeling it.
I thought to myself, “Why are you doing this? Why are you here at this moment? It’s because you started this to have fun, so make it fun. Stop overthinking it.” And then I proceeded to start galloping 🙂 This was by far one of my TOP favorite photo shoots we have ever shot together!! I forget I get one shot at this life and don’t need to take it for granted.
Some of the most successful people have incredible energies and don’t take themselves too seriously. They make work fun, they make life fun.
I think we often forget that God gave us the gift of joy. It’s silly, but when I shop for Christmas decor, or even picking out our Christmas cards, I always try to find something with “Joy” on it. It is the purest form of happiness and speaking that into your life reaps ten-fold.
So, don’t take yourself too seriously. Look at the bright side. Find your inner joy even when things aren’t going your way, you will turn them around so much quicker.
Make it Matter, spread some Joy and don’t take yourself too seriously.
