90 days ago I made a decision to not buy anything I didn’t want for myself, only needs. Surprise, surprise… I didn’t need anything! 90 days is a long time so I wanted to take a little time to share my 90 Day Challenge Re-cap.
Having a blog makes it VERY difficult to not shop and add to your wardrobe. This blog has a big focus on STYLE so not being able to share my new favorite pieces or how I am assembling an #ootd is extremely difficult.
The 90 day challenge had me digging to the very depths of my closet. I found items in my closet that I realized I need to incorporate in my wardrobe more often and then found some that had me thinking, “WTF? This needs to be thrown away!”
Those pieces that I absolutely love I want to enjoy more. How can you wear your favorite pair of heels only once? It’s not real life people. I embrace the Kate Middleton of the world and wear and outfit more than once. If you love it, wear it!! Maybe just wear it around another crowd or accessorize slightly different.
This challenge made me realize how much I love a t-shirt and jeans… I could spend $1000s on t-shirts!! I just love the casual-cool look.
Aside from the obvious, there was one other big thing I learned: I realized how much time I waste on things that give no value to my life. I scroll through websites instead of playing “Choo-Choo” with my darling little daughter. I worry about what I am going to wear to meet our friends for dinner instead of just being grateful we get to fellowship with those amazing people. It allowed me to support family that needed some extra love and attention. In a nutshell, it cut out the NONSENSE.
Is it strange that I lost a little of my GOF about certain things in life and just want to enjoy the ride more? It’s so hard to cut out the noise but I really am trying to focus on the key things in my life and this 90 day challenge truly opened my eyes.
So what matters to you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. We’ve all heard this story. But dig a little deeper? What’s the big picture? Happiness? A fulfilled life? What brings those things?
It sure isn’t CLOTHES.
